The subject of this paper is the application of Cosserats’ equations of medium as a continuous model of dense and elastic regular grids having rigid nodes. The paper generalizes the considerations presented e.g. in [1 and 2] (concering the grids represented in Fig. 1) to grids of a more complex structure. The considerations were carried out with the assumption that each rod connecting two neighbouring nodes is prismatic and linearly elastic, and that there exists a plane of elastic symmetry for each typical sector of the grid. The basic equations are derived for disks, plates and grid shells. The particular cases are comprised here, among others, of grids having the structures presented in Fig. 3.
